CMIT/MIT (Methylisothiazolinone) is a powerful synthetic broad-spectrum preservative and antimicrobial agent used to stop the growth of bacteria, fungi, yeast, and algae in water-based formulas.
It is widely used in detergents, floor finishes, and multi-surface cleaners. and in personal care products like shampoos, conditioners, body washes, baby lotions, and sunscreens to prevent getting contaminated by bacteria and fungi.
Ideal dosage is 0.05% to 0.1% in liquid detergents and cleaners.
